So I've been very busy lately and haven't been motivated enough to do a blog post.
I found some motivation! Yay!
As I mentioned before I went to the states and bought some makeup products of course! I've used them a bunch now and am really enjoying some products! Others are big disappointments and some are just okay. So lets get started, eh?
The Awesome:
Revlon Top Speed Nail polish in Peachy:
This product is like most drugstore nail polishes. The consistency is a little watery and it takes a few coats to make it opaque and not streaky. However, the colour is AWESOME! I love the peachy pink colour. I have been looking for one like this for a long time. It doesn't have great lasting power but if you're like me and you change your nail polish every second day anyways, who cares? :)
E.L.F. Super Glossy Lip Shine in Watermelon:
THIS STUFF IS AWESOME! And it's only $1. You have to go to Target or you can go online to www.eyeslipsface.com to get it. It has great staying power and amazing colour pay off. I would definitely give it a try. Why not? It's a dollar. It's a little sticky but what lipgloss isn't?
Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse Foundation in Light 1:
I am so far behind on this one. I know it came out forever ago but I always thought it would suck so I never bought it. I was so wrong. It was amazing. I was out at Save-On one night and I was running low on foundation and of course got sucked into the beauty aisle and this was on sale. I figured I didn't have much to lose. I'm so glad I did it! It is great! The coverage is medium to full and it lasts a long time. I love the matte finish and it is the perfect colour for me.
The disappointments:
Garnier B.B. Cream:
I am crushed. I was so looking forward to this. I had been reading up about B.B. Creams and wanted to find one that worked for me and I could get in Canada without paying a boat load of shipping from Korea. Here's the deal: B.B. Cream stands for beauty balm or blemish balm and it was made famous by Korean actresses and became very popular in Asian countries. B.B. Cream is supposed to hide blemishes, lighten skin (not that I need that) and even skin tone and boat load of other things. MAC has one that I might need to try. The Garnier one is not a real B.B. Cream, it is a tinted moisturizer. I don't like tinted moisturizers, I need more coverage. This is also very oily. I have combination/oily skin and by the end of the day my face feels like its dripping, I'm so shiny. It only comes in two colours and is supposed to adjust to match your skin tone. It does not. It makes me orange. Grrrr. Sigh, this was a disappointment and it was $13, which for a drugstore product is way too much. I'd say this is a skip for me. However, if you like tinted moisturizers and have dry skin you might want to try it.
E.L.F. Studio Blush in Fuchsia Fusion:
I was very excited about this colour. It is supposed to be a dupe for NARS Angelika. I love E.LF. Studio blushes, they are only $3 and they have great shades and are super pigmented. This is a terrible shade. It is a pinkish purple with LOTS of glitter. I hate glitter in my blush, I want the option of looking like a disco ball, not having it forced upon me. The colour does not work with my skin tone and makes me look sickly or like I got beat up. There is much to much purple in it. I tried using my bronzer to fix it and it couldn't even help. It's a definite skip for me.
That's all folks! Thanks so much for tuning in! I'm gonna do a tutorial sometime soon, maybe tomorrow if I have time. I'm thinking a Victoria Secret look!
Love Cara!
My picks of the day are:
