BB Cream Re-Review

Okay, So I think I have found my holy grail foundation!!! This might be a tad early to say such things since I have only used it four times BUT I have never liked something so much after using it four times. I have usually found something wrong or had to figure out how to work with it and make it look okay. Most foundations are usually too pink or too yellow and not have much coverage. This one only requires one application and my skin looks airbrushed. It's absolutely amazing.

SO WHAT IS IT?

Garnier BB Cream in Light/Medium for Combination to Oily skin

I had tried the regular Garnier BB Cream and found it so streaky and orange. It was also far too hydrating for me and made my skin look like a disco ball after an hour. I hated it. In fact, I reviewed it like a year ago.

THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER!

I tried this on a whim. I checked my bank account and saw I had a little bit more money in my account than normal. I had actually not been wearing a foundation for two weeks beforehand because I didn't have anything worth using. One was too orange and greasy and the other was too light and dried my skin out. I went to Shoppers to kill sometime and with my new found money and saw this. I had used a sample in an Allure Magazine months ago and had liked it. It was on sale and I thought "What the heck?". I'm so glad I did. The coverage is amazing with very little product and it looks so natural. I'm very happy with it. I will see how my skin reacts in the next few days but I'm quite happy.

the balm beauty buys

Ello ello!

Another post? What? I'm getting good at this.

So I ordered some things from the Balm a while ago, they were having a huge 50% off sale. However, the sale started off on quite a rocky note and their website crashed and was down for over a week. When it came back up I bought two things. Now, for about a month, I heard nothing from them. I got a confirmation email but that was it. No shipping notice or updates. Nothing. They hadn't even charged my credit card. I was SUPER PISSED. Yes, it's makeup but I'd like to know what the heck is going on with it. Anyway, I emailed them to ask what was going on. No response. Then, about a week later my credit card was charged and I got a shipping confirmation. Seriously? No reply email saying "so sorry it took so long but we've shipped it now"?? So when I opened my box on Friday with the products inside I was a little mad. BUT that quickly changed. HOLY MOSES! IS THEIR STUFF AMAZING OR WHAT?. I have never tried anything from them before, just heard countless YouTubers like EmilyNoel83 go on and on about how great their stuff was.

WHAT I GOT:

Bahama Mama Bronzer

This baby is so pigmented, it's amazing. It retails for $20.00 regular but I got mine for $10.00 in the sale which is a great deal. You have to be careful not to use too much but it looks fabulous on. I am super pale and I think this would work for a variety of skin tones. It is a deep matte brown. I love matte bronzers instead of shimmer ones. Shimmer ones make me look like peach disco ball. I would use this to contour with as well. Fabulous! And we can talk about how freaking cute the packaging is?? It's like Benefit before they became too popular. I love it!

Frat Boy Blush

This baby is so much like Nars Orgasm to me, only it is way more wearable and far less shimmery. I love this colour so much. It is a lovely pink/coral colour that is perfect for a variety of skin tones as well. It is also SUPER pigmented so be careful and don't over load that brush, honey! It retails for $21.00 and I got it for $10.50. It says on the packaging it can be used an eyeshadow too, which is cool but I think it will take some practice to make this work in an eye look.

Now I know I got these on sale and that's a little unfair but the Balm is always on Hautelook and usually 50% off. You might have to wait a month or so before it is on again, but its a good deal. They also sell the Balm at Rexall pharmacy and they usually mark it down quite a bit. I really like this brand and want to try more from it. I am probably going to buy it from Hautelook or Rexall though because of the bad customer service their website seems to have.

Where have I been?

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

I almost forgot that I had a fracking blog! Yikes! I really want to get better about posting on here. I am crazy busy right now with work and my new play but I will be better I promise about posting!

Enough chatter, lets talk makeup, okay?

Products I'm LOVING:

Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray is fudging fantastic! I used to hate it because I couldn't figure out how to make it work for me but I finally figured out the secret! I put my primer on first, I just use a cheap one from Prestige, and then I spray this all over my face and HOLY my face looks so great even just using those two products. My pores nearly disappear, it is fantastic! I put on my foundation and concealer and then another spritz of this baby! After that, I move on to powder products! Special thanks to Ingrid, or MissGlamorazzi for showing me the error of my ways :)

Another product I am loving is the Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti, have I mentioned how much I love corals right now? ERMEGERD! They are so amazing for spring! Well, coral in spring, it isn't a revolutionary idea is it? But I love it! Soo pretty! I think it would look good on most skin tones too.

Well, perhaps that is enough for one post but I promise to post more!

Other favourites:

Sushi Roll- The Marble Roll, yummy cream cheese
Song- Hey Ho! by Lennon and Maisy Stella
YouTuber- Sprinkleofglitter, my new favourite, she is so fracking funny!
TV Show: Nashville or Broadchurch! AMAZING!

So I've been very busy lately and haven't been motivated enough to do a blog post.

I found some motivation! Yay!

As I mentioned before I went to the states and bought some makeup products of course! I've used them a bunch now and am really enjoying some products! Others are big disappointments and some are just okay. So lets get started, eh?

The Awesome:

Revlon Top Speed Nail polish in Peachy:

This product is like most drugstore nail polishes. The consistency is a little watery and it takes a few coats to make it opaque and not streaky. However, the colour is AWESOME! I love the peachy pink colour. I have been looking for one like this for a long time. It doesn't have great lasting power but if you're like me and you change your nail polish every second day anyways, who cares? :)

E.L.F. Super Glossy Lip Shine in Watermelon:

THIS STUFF IS AWESOME! And it's only $1. You have to go to Target or you can go online to www.eyeslipsface.com to get it. It has great staying power and amazing colour pay off. I would definitely give it a try. Why not? It's a dollar. It's a little sticky but what lipgloss isn't?

Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse Foundation in Light 1:

I am so far behind on this one. I know it came out forever ago but I always thought it would suck so I never bought it. I was so wrong. It was amazing. I was out at Save-On one night and I was running low on foundation and of course got sucked into the beauty aisle and this was on sale. I figured I didn't have much to lose. I'm so glad I did it! It is great! The coverage is medium to full and it lasts a long time. I love the matte finish and it is the perfect colour for me.

The disappointments:

Garnier B.B. Cream:

I am crushed. I was so looking forward to this. I had been reading up about B.B. Creams and wanted to find one that worked for me and I could get in Canada without paying a boat load of shipping from Korea. Here's the deal: B.B. Cream stands for beauty balm or blemish balm and it was made famous by Korean actresses and became very popular in Asian countries. B.B. Cream is supposed to hide blemishes, lighten skin (not that I need that) and even skin tone and boat load of other things. MAC has one that I might need to try. The Garnier one is not a real B.B. Cream, it is a tinted moisturizer. I don't like tinted moisturizers, I need more coverage. This is also very oily. I have combination/oily skin and by the end of the day my face feels like its dripping, I'm so shiny. It only comes in two colours and is supposed to adjust to match your skin tone. It does not. It makes me orange. Grrrr. Sigh, this was a disappointment and it was $13, which for a drugstore product is way too much. I'd say this is a skip for me. However, if you like tinted moisturizers and have dry skin you might want to try it.

E.L.F. Studio Blush in Fuchsia Fusion:

I was very excited about this colour. It is supposed to be a dupe for NARS Angelika. I love E.LF. Studio blushes, they are only $3 and they have great shades and are super pigmented. This is a terrible shade. It is a pinkish purple with LOTS of glitter. I hate glitter in my blush, I want the option of looking like a disco ball, not having it forced upon me. The colour does not work with my skin tone and makes me look sickly or like I got beat up. There is much to much purple in it. I tried using my bronzer to fix it and it couldn't even help. It's a definite skip for me.
That's all folks! Thanks so much for tuning in! I'm gonna do a tutorial sometime soon, maybe tomorrow if I have time. I'm thinking a Victoria Secret look!

Love Cara!

My picks of the day are:

OPI nail polish in Diva of Geneva

Hello Beauty Product Junkies!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Cara and I have been wanting to do this for a long time. I've debated starting a Youtube channel or a blog but decided a blog was the best way to get started. Why? I get asked a lot by friends about products or how to do certain makeup looks. So a blog is the perfect way to answer questions about products or give you ladies some ideas for makeup. Makeup is really expensive sometimes, so it is good to get ideas on what actually works and what doesn't. If anyone has any ideas or product suggestions please send them my way :) I will take suggestions on Facebook or Twitter. My Twitter name is 'Letsgotothemall' just like my blog name! Tomorrow I am going to the USA to go on a product hunt! I will most likely be buying a lot. I'm specifically going to get a few ELF products and BB Cream! Super excited about the BB Cream! I will have a haul post in a few days and then some reviews! Every post I will have a product favourite of the day and a woman whose makeup inspired me today!

Thanks for joining me!

Love,

Cara
